[cisco-voip] Setting up one extension to ring on multiple phones

Hello group.

I am new to the Cisco phone systems so this may be a basic question.

We have a group that wants one contact number that rings on multiple single line phones at the same time, not in a particular order like a hunt group would do. Is there a way that we can setup a station or other type of extension in the call manager that when it is dialed, rings on multiple stations at the same time? The stations we want the calls to ring on only have one line appearance though. We have Call Manager 6.1.4.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

you have a couple options.

1. Same extension on all phones.

or

2. use a hunt group set to broadcast would ring all extensions in the group
at the same time.
set up line group with the extensions(set to broadcast). Point the Hunt
list to the line group and set the pilot number to the hunt list

There maybe other options but those come to mind.

YMMV

Hi John,

you can configure shared lines so that incoming calls will ring on all
phones which have the shared line configured. Check out the CUCM admin and
features documentations.

If you only stations only have a single distinct line and if you want to assign a second common phone number, you can also create a hunt group and set the algorithm to broadcast.

Of course, shared lines are an option as well if your stations have a spare unused line.
