Discussion:
[cisco-voip] Bogen TAMB2 Intercom system with CUCM and 2951 intermittent ?

Customer has a Bogen TAMB2 paging system integrated with CUCM 8.5.1. The paging works, but not all the time, more like 50% of the time it will work and 50% of the time it will not. It seems like the calls do not always disconnect from the paging system. Does anyone have any experience with these systems having this problem?

It is currently going out an FXO port on the voice gw (2951 with pvdm3-64)

We use the TAMB at a few places, but we bought them specifically to be used with FXS ports off our VG248s not FXO ports. I thought you could almost connect directly to the paging system with an FXO.

Can you try using an FXS port to see if things improve?

FXS supervisory disconnect varies by product (eg CCM vs CME vs ATA vs FXS) I’ve been burned a few times using FSX before (eg unit stays offhook after making the page) with paging units.

I want to stick with FXO. The TAMB has a lot of dip switches. I think I’m going to have to dig into the TAMB manual or contact their tech support if no one has a working FXO/TAMB setup they suggest.

Wondering if I need to add some supervisory commands to the voice-port;

I'm assuming since you have it connected to an FXO port it's connected to an external power source?

Well, we haven't had one problem with the disconnect issues with FXS ports, the TAMBs were purchased to prevent those specifically. The only problem we had, was when we misconfigured the line to have max calls 2, so basically, people could call the paging device and initiate call waiting. that was bad.

Look for another note offline...
