[cisco-voip] DTMF on VG224 with analogue Voicemail

I need to integrate to an analogue Voicemail system(Long discussion) to CUCM 8.x. So when calling from one phone to the other we reach the voicemail pilot, but due to the fact that we integrating with Analogue(VG224) the VM provider can only determine which mailbox this is for by the DTMF, So in the past your required a USB to serial converted plugged into a MCS server to achieve this. Unfortunately we are using UCS servers and this option is not available anymore. I found some information on the command "vm-integration", but has not been very successful so far. Any ideas?

If you can dig up a VG248 it can do SMDI via an on-board serial port.
Otherwise the last I heard was that CMI still required a physical server.

I'm not 100% sure, but you might be able to use one of these.

http://www.dialogic.com/en/products/gateways/enterprise-media-gateways.aspx

I use it to go from PBX to Unity Connection, but you may be able to use it the other way around, i.e. Cisco IP to analog voice mail. It has a serial port. Giving them a call would be the best way.

Also, I found this, might be the same you found. Not much help, but thought I'd share.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/9_0_1/ccmsys/CUCM_BK_CD2F83FA_00_system-guide_chapter_011110.html

There are USB to serial cables, and as far as I know, there is the ability for a VM to access these devices. But you're right, it might be a dog to get working.

I think a VG248 as Ryan suggested would be the easiest way. There are a number available as refurbished. Might be hard getting it on SmartNet though since they're EOL.
